Ellen Gander, RD, LDN, CEDRD-S


Ellen specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating and provides nutrition therapy for children, adolescents and adults with a variety of nutrition concerns. Ellen is a Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian (CEDRD) and an Approved Supervisor through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp). Ellen values individualized nutrition counseling and collaborates with clients to identify nutrition goals and joyful movement. Using a non-diet approach, she applies principles of Health At Every Size®, mindfulness and intuitive eating. Ellen has an understanding of diverse personalities and temperaments and provides a supportive environment to navigate recovery. She uses compassion and kindness to create a non-judgmental space in which individuals can explore their relationship with food and find joy in eating. Ellen received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati and completed her dietetic internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Ohio. She also earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute. Ellen has extensive experience working at various levels of care including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient. Prior to moving to North Carolina, Ellen was a clinical dietitian in the Harold C. Scott Eating Disorder Program at the Lindner Center of Hope in Mason, Ohio. In Durham, she has worked in both the Child & Adolescent and Adult programs at Veritas Collaborative and the residential program at Carolina House. Ellen meets with clients in our Raleigh and RTP/Brier Creek offices and via telehealth.
