Laura Henson, RD, LDN
Laura specializes in medical nutrition therapy for adults, adolescents and children with disordered eating patterns. She is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and enjoys teaming up with clients to break free of the diet cycle. Laura also assists and collaborates with families to navigate childhood feeding issues. Laura received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Marshall University and completed her dietetic internship with Iowa State University. She worked as a nutrition educator in elementary schools with Marshall University’s Nutrition Education Program and as a clinical dietitian at Central Regional Hospital, a state psychiatric hospital. Most recently, she was a clinical dietitian at Veritas Collaborative, treating individuals with eating disorders at several levels of care including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient. She is a member of the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp) and the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians. Laura promotes Health At Every Size® principles and practices a non-diet approach. She utilizes motivational interviewing and DBT skills to provide client-centered, compassionate care. Laura welcomes clients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. Laura co-leads our Brave Bodies Lunch Bunch. She sees clients in our Durham and RTP/Brier Creek offices.
