Laura has been on our team since 2019 and sees clients in our RTP Office. She is on our Leadership Team and manages the internal trainings for our team. Laura specializes in eating disorders/disordered eating and nutrition and neurodivergence. You can read more about Laura’s professional background in her bio.
We asked Laura some questions to learn a bit more about her and her work as an eating disorders dietitian.
1. Describe your ideal client?
My ideal client would be an adult who has felt like they could never eat “the right way” their whole life. Whether this was because of their body size, diet culture, picky eating, neurodivergence, etc. I love helping people discover what healthy eating means FOR THEM.
2. What three words best describe your therapeutic style with clients?
Relational, compassionate, and collaborative
3. What do you wish those struggling with eating disorders knew? Or what is one thing you wish your clients knew?
I wish that those who struggle with eating disorders knew that there are many people who understand their pain and/or are willing to believe them and help support them.
4. What does self care look like for you?
Naps, walks outside, eating enjoyable food, and doing something creative
5. Outside of work you can find yourself doing___________________?
Trying to keep up with my children, cuddling with my dog, family adventures, and crocheting
6. What is your favorite food?
Just about anything with chocolate
7. If you could do another job just for a day, what would it be?
